About Anita

Anita Perera is the Founder and Principal Lawyer of Anita Perera Law Professional Corporation. With a client-focused approach and years of practice in two countries, Anita is dedicated to providing practical, thoughtful, and clear legal guidance to individuals, families, and businesses.

Anita obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka and practised law there before immigrating to Canada. She subsequently completed her legal studies at Western University Faculty of Law and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2016.

Since then the firm has completed more than 2,000 real estate closings and over 3,500 immigration applications, and has grown to cover real estate, immigration, family law, wills and estates, powers of attorney and notary public services.

As Principal Lawyer, Anita is committed to understanding each client’s unique circumstances and providing personalized legal solutions. She strives to make the legal process clear, approachable, and manageable while advocating for her clients’ interests. When a client cannot come to the office — because of illness, mobility, or an urgent deadline — she will travel to them.

Professional involvement

Anita is the Legal Advisor to the University of Colombo Alumni Association of Canada and is a member of the Peel Law Association.

She is also actively involved in supporting the development of future professionals. The firm is a host employer for the Peel District School Board’s Co-operative Education Program and for Humber College’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Placement Program, giving high school and paralegal students practical experience and insight into the legal profession.

Outside the office

Outside of her professional commitments, Anita enjoys gardening and cooking, and finds that both reflect the same patience and attention to detail she brings to her work. She also values time spent with family and friends, and believes that a balanced life makes for a better lawyer.
